IAT Leasing acquires 10 A330Fs on Lease to Amazon

IAT Leasing (IAT) has arranged the acquisition and ongoing lease management of a portfolio of 10  Airbus A330F aircraft, which are currently on lease to Amazon Air and operated by Alaska Airlines. The aircraft were purchased from funds managed by ALTAVAIR and were acquired on behalf of funds managed by Blue Owl Capital and financed by MUFG. IAT will provide ongoing lease administration and asset management services.

IAT described the transaction as a further milestone for the company, adding dedicated widebody freighter aircraft to its serviced portfolio, starting a new relationship with Amazon and further enhancing its existing partnership with Alaska Airlines. The acquisition also reinforces IAT’s important and expanding portfolio with Blue Owl.

The deal builds on the January 2026 announcement that IAT and Blue Owl would enter the LessorCare+ program with Rolls-Royce.

Martin Browne, chief executive officer of IAT, described the transaction as “transformative” for IAT. “Acquiring ten A330 converted freighters on lease to Amazon Air takes us into a new asset class and immediately positions IAT as a major lessor of freighter aircraft globally,” he said. “It’s a step change in the scale and diversification of our platform, and reinforces our reputation as a reliable trading partner, regardless of transaction scale. We’re grateful to Blue Owl for the continued trust they place in our platform, pleased to deepen our relationship with Alaska Airlines, and excited to begin working with Amazon Air. The concurrent adoption of Rolls-Royce’s LessorCare+ programme caps what has been an exceptional period of growth for the business.”

Daniel Rosato, managing director within Alternative Credit at Blue Owl, commented: “We’re thrilled to pursue this milestone transaction with IAT. Building off our successful track record with passenger A330, this acquisition represents an attractive expansion into a freighter variant that we expect to power the cargo market for decades to come. We are also excited to welcome a world-class airline to our growing portfolio.”

Tye Holmes, Head of Aviation Origination – EMEA at MUFG: “MUFG is proud to support IAT and Blue Owl on this significant fleet acquisition. Delivering the structured financing within a tight timeline reflects the strong collaboration between all parties. We value the trust placed in us and look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
