Delta Air Lines predicts it could lose a predicted $1.2bn from its fuel hedges due to the declining oil prices, compared to an expected benefit of $1.7bn when the hedge were put in place. However Delta will continue to benefit from tis ownership of the Trainer oil refinery, and its older aircraft fleet, which will now be cheaper to operate.
