China Airlines has is cancelling 18 direct flights from Taiwan to Greece that were scheduled from June 3 to October 7 because it has not been able to obtain the required license from the Greek Civil Aviation Authority in time. It has been widely reported that the delay in granted the previously verbally-agreed license was due to the political relationship between Beijing and Taipei, which prevented the Foreign Ministry in Athens to go ahead with the temporary license.
