President of Boeing India, Pratyush Kumar, has confirmed that Spicejet’s order for 42 737 MAX 8 aircraft remains in place with deliveries expected to start in 2018.
As we have reported extensively, SpiceJet remains in negotiations with lessors regarding the future of its assets. In the meantime, SpiceJet could raise funds via the sale-leaseback of its 15 Dash 8-400s, which is in negotiations according to unconfirmed reports.
