The UILT, Alitalia's main pilots' union, has stated that it will strike for four hours on October 29 to put pressure on management to disclose details on how they intend to save the airline. Until the union receives "a credible plan" for saving the airline, the union has promised more 48-hour strikes to follow.
UILT has already rejected proposals for layoffs and is demanding a new international partner and new management.
