Acumen Aviation cites strong demand and supply constraints in 2025 operational review

Acumen Aviation said 2025 was characterised by strong demand for aircraft assets amid persistent delivery delays, engine maintenance challenges and supply chain disruption, creating one of the most supply-constrained operating environments in recent years.

In its 2025 Operational Review, the asset management and advisory firm said lease rates for modern, fuel-efficient aircraft reached record levels, while higher interest rates increased financing costs. Strong lease yields and asset values, however, continued to support lessor profitability.

Acumen’s Leasing and Advisory team managed 10 special-purpose vehicles in Ireland during the year, overseeing a portfolio of 24 assets leased globally. The group said it remained active in aircraft sourcing, trading and remarketing, including transactions involving standalone engines, part-out aircraft and freighters.

The Technical Asset Management (TAM) team supported around 350 assets and saw increased redelivery activity, particularly in Asia, as airlines and lessors managed fleet transitions and maintenance exposure.

Valuations and Advisory activity also increased sharply, with Acumen completing more than 1,500 asset appraisals in 2025, including over 30 assets for ABS transactions, bringing total valuations completed to more than 6,450 assets. Its fin-S valuation platform now supports almost 50 aircraft and engine types.

Acumen said intensified maintenance demands and parts shortages also drove higher regulatory and compliance workloads for its CAMO business, which retained key European and offshore approvals and added ISO 27001 certification during the year.

The company added that digital transformation and data management had become operational necessities, with nearly 2,260 assets managed across its internal systems to support predictive analytics, compliance and asset marketability in a tight market.
