The world’s first interline agreement between an international airline and cargo drone airline has been signed, with Dronamics and Qatar Airways to collaborate on an upcoming partnership.
The world’s largest international cargo carrier, Qatar Airways Cargo, are to work with Dronamics, the world’s first cargo drone airline with a license to operate in Europe; significantly expanding the delivery network of both partners. Dronamics will initially offer services from its droneports early next year, initially in Greece, to the wider Qatar Airways network – which, in return, will be able to access remote locations served by the drone delivery network.
Noting his excitement at partnering with the world’s largest air cargo carrier, co-founder and CEO of Dronamics Svilen Rangelov noted: “While currently less than 1% of global trade moves by air, the vast global reach of Qatar Airways Cargo… gives us the perfect platform to massively expand air cargo accessibility”.
Dronamics’ flagship Black Swan aircraft, custom-designed for cargo, will be capably of caryring up to 350kg at a distance of up to 1,550 miles; estimated to be up to 90% faster, 50% cheaper and than with up to 60% lower emissions than alternative modes of transport, including conventional air freight.
