European budget airline Wizz Air has received a B score for its 2023 climate change ranking. The score was given by global environmental disclosure nonprofit CDP. The ranking is a significant improvement from its D ranking in 2022 and a C ranking in its first disclosure in 2021.
Wizz Air was awarded an A/A- score for its disclosure on scope 1 & 2 emissions (including verification), emission reduction initiatives and low carbon products, risk management processes, and governance.
""We are proud that we were also able to significantly improve our CDP ranking this year, especially considering that CDP has strengthened their criteria for scoring,"" said Wizz Air corporate and ESG officer Yvonne Moynihan. ""We have a robust sustainability strategy, continue investing in the latest technology aircraft and sustainable aviation fuel.""
