During January 2016, Wizz Air carried 1,522,901 passengers, an increase of 21.0% compared the year-ago period, which was on the back of an 18.2% increase in capacity to 1,823,600 seats. Load factor rose by 1.9 percentage points to 83.5% during January. Available Seats per Kilometre (ASKs) rose 19.7% to 2,821,019 in January with Revenue Passenger Kilometres (RPKs) up by 23.1% to 2,376,348.
On a 12 months rolling basis, Wizz Air’s passenger traffic rose 21.7% to 19,443,745 with capacity up by 19.4% to 22,091,740. Load factor rose 1.9 percentage points to 88%. ASKs rose 19% to 33,911,091 and RPKs were up 21.6% to 29,893,536.
In January 2016, Wizz Air continued to expand its customer offering and network with 11 new routes launched to: Romania (x3), Poland (x3), Bulgaria (x1), and Hungary (x4). Wizz Air also announced a doubling of flights from Budapest to Lisbon to four times a week starting in March.
