Wizz Air celebrates 70 million passengers at London Luton
Wizz Air has celebrated 70 million passengers travelling to London Luton Airport, welcoming its milestone passenger on a flight from Tirana, Albania. “London Luton Airport is a special place for us. It is home to our UK head office and is the airport that we operate the majority of our UK flights from,” explained Zsazsa Trubek, corporate communications manager of Wizz Air. The low-cost Hungarian airline is the largest carrier at the airport, operating 50 return flights per day to 60 destinations with a fleet of 11 aircraft. Later this month, Wizz Air will extend its Luton services to include flights to Salzburg, Austria, as well as special flights to Germany this summer for the UEFA European Football Championships. In July 2023, Wizz Air also announced that it intends to make London Luton an all-A321neo base by 2025.
