Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air is to open routes connecting Budapest and Bucharest with Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The new flights out of the Hungarian and Romanian capitals follow the late-2022 opening of routes to Saudi Arabia from Austria and Italy. The addition of the links from Budapest and Bucharest means Wizz passengers can choose between 24 routes into the Persian Gulf kingdom, including to Jeddah and Dammam.
"Already one of the largest partnerships in the world, the announcement of two new connections from Budapest Airport and Bucharest Airport to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ensures Saudi will remain an exciting destination for Europeans to visit and explore," said Fahd Hamidaddin, chief Executive of the Saudi Tourism Authority.
