Willis Sustainable Fuels wins approval for Teesworks SAF refinery
Willis Sustainable Fuels (WLFC), a subsidiary of Willis Lease Finance Corporation, has received approval from the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council in the UK for its Carbonshift power-to-liquid (PtL) sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) refinery project plans at Teesworks, UK. The company estimates that the refinery will have an annual production capacity of 14 kilotons of PtL SAF. The project had been awarded a £4.7 million ($5.98 million) from the UK Department for Transport's advanced fuels fund. ""We're poised to dive into action, collaborating closely with our partners at Teesworks to bolster the UK’s SAF pipeline,"" said WLFC CEO Austin Willis.
