The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported that tourism numbers in the Middle East region have declined by up to 4% during 2-14, citing ongoing unrest in the region as a principal factor.
The Middle East was the only region in the world to post a decline in visitor numbers from January to April compared to the same period last year, although the UNWTO said the 4% figure “should be taken with caution as it is based on limited available data for the region.”
