WestJet Cargo expands service to South Korea with increased frequencies

WestJet Cargo has expanded its Calgary-Seoul service, doubling its flight frequencies to meet growing demand for air cargo and passenger transportation between the two countries.

From May 19, 2025, the route will increase from three to six flights per week, operating until October 13, 2025, and will continue to be served by its 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft offers a weekly cargo capacity of around 130 tonnes and 480 cubic metres.

“Doubling our frequencies is a testament to our commitment to strengthening connections between Canada and South Korea," said WestJet EVP, cargo Kirsten de Brujin.

WestJet commercial director, cargo Julius Mooney commented: “This expansion is driven by market demand and designed to provide our partners with greater opportunities for seamless imports and exports. It's about offering solutions that empower businesses across both regions.”

The company first launched the route on May 17, 2024, with the increased frequencies marking its anniversary.
