WestJet also posts record load factor for February

WestJet Airlines carried 1.4 million passengers during February 2013, a rise of 5.5% compared to the same period last year, which has resulted in a record load factor of 86.1%, up from 82.7% in February 2012.
WestJet's passenger traffic increased by 7.3% in terms of revenue passenger miles, which rose to 1.6 billion from 1.5 billion in February 2012 on the back of an increase in capacity measured by available seat miles of 3.1% to 1.87 billion from 1.81 billion a year before.
"We are very pleased with the record February load factor, as our capacity increases continue to be absorbed by the market," WestJet president and chief executive Gregg Saretsky said in a statement.
