Vueling returns to London Heathrow, leases BA slots
Vueling is to return to London Heathrow airport after gaining slots from British Airways, also a member of the International Airlines Group (IAG). Commencing on April 7 2023, the low-cost Spanish carrier will operate twice-daily flights to Barcelona and daily flights to Paris Orly. This was made possible after Vueling leased 42 weekly slots from BA, mirroring an existing agreement at London Gatwick. “We are delighted to relaunch operations from London Heathrow, UK’s largest airport. These two routes are in addition to our existing operation from London Gatwick and positions Vueling as one of the key airlines connecting these major hubs across Europe,” commented Carolyn Prowse, Vueling’s chief commercial, customer, network and strategy officer.
