Volatus and Plana to work together on eVTOL infrastructure

Volatus Infrastructure has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korean electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle manufacturer Plana to work together on vertiport development and integration of eVTOL operations

“The only way the eVTOL industry is going to succeed is through collaboration and working together for the greater good,” said Grant Fisk, Volatus Infrastructure co-founder.

"It is quite a meaningful moment for Plana to sign an MoU with Volatus, which offers top-class eVTOL infrastructure, and to formulate an ecosystem together for accelerating the realisation of advanced air mobility in our lives," said Braden J. Kim, Plana's chief executive.#

Both companies were founded in 2021. Plana focuses on hybrid power-train systems with a differentiated market strategy. Its VTOL aircraft can carry up to six passengers with one pilot with a cruising speed of 190 mph with range of more than 310 miles. It plans to finish an eVTOL sub-scale flight test in 2023 and to open a branch office in the US.

Volatus offers three main eVTOL infrastructure designs, a vehicle agnostic charging station, plus an app and maintenance programmes
