Mexican low cost airline Volaris carried 2.5 million passengers in May 2025, marking a 4.3% when compared to the same month last year. Domestic passengers were up 5.4% to 1.9 million, while international passengers were relatively flat, increasing 0.8%, to 608,000 passengers.

The airline's load factor was down 4.3 percentage points to 81.8%, while capacity was up 9%. Revenue passenger miles (RPM) were up 3.5%.

“May’s capacity growth aligns with the adjustments outlined during our earnings call, allowing us to better match customer demand,” said Volaris president and CEO Enrique Beltranena. "Tactically, our commercial team has focused its efforts to maximize unit revenue performance by prioritising close-in fares over load factors. As we move through the second quarter, we remain aligned with our guidance for the quarter and are seeing encouraging booking trends heading into the summer high season."

For the first five months of the year, the company has transported a total of 12.5 million passengers, marking an 8% increase compared to last year. Load factor for the five months was down 2.5 percentage points to 83.9%, while capacity was up 8.9% for the first five months of the year.
