Vistara CEO Phe Teik Yeoh has hit out at the continuing far price war in India, calling it unsustainable and unlikely to continue. “I think such pricing cannot continue forever… but I am happy that fares are firming up now. Pricing competition is a global thing but the last minute fare discounting is unique to India. Globally, fare are always high last minute. But I hope last-minute discounting was just the trend this year and does not continue for long,” he said.
Indian fares have been declining heavily due to intense competition – some last minute fares are up to 50 per cent cheaper than last year.
Vistara has launched its all-new Club Vistara (CV) frequent flyer program, which provides enhanced privileges to members who can earn miles and faster elite tier upgrades.
