Virgin Australia is offering a codeshare flight with South African Airways for the first time.
Virgin Australia will commence codeshare on South African Airways’ daily direct services from Perth to Johannesburg, with fares available for sale from Tuesday 14 October 2014 and for travel from Tuesday 21 October 2014. This follows the launch of South African Airways’ codeshare on Virgin Australia’s daily services from Perth to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year.
Members of Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program will now have the ability to earn Points and Status Credits when flying between Perth and Johannesburg on the Virgin Australia codeshare flights.
Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer Judith Crompton said: “South African Airways shares our passion for exceptional customer service and recognises the importance of rewarding customer loyalty.
“This new codeshare enables our customers to connect seamlessly from our domestic services through to South Africa and gives our customers in Western Australia more choice. It is also positive news for our Velocity Frequent Flyer members who will have more opportunities to earn Points and Status Credits to and from South Africa”, said Ms Crompton.
South African Airways operates daily direct services between Johannesburg and Perth.
Fares from Perth to Johannesburg will go on sale through Virgin Australia’s website from Tuesday 14 October 2014 with travel from 21 October 2014.
