Vietravel Airlines operated the first out of its eleven tourism charter flights from Daegu city, South Korea to Cam Ranh International Airport, Vietnam. The airline is expected to carry over 2,200 Korean tourists on the tourist charter series with one flight in every five days.
The airline officially welcomed the first Korean tourist group with a tour guide introducing Vietnamese famous landmarks. Passengers were also treated with Vietnamese traditional conical hats.
The airline is planning to add more flights to this route as demand rises.
Vu Duc Bien, CEO of Vietravel Airlines said: “Vietravel Airlines has decided to launch charter flights connecting Daegu city, Korea and Cam Ranh city, Vietnam to meet the increasing demand of passengers in both countries. This is also a competitive advantage of Vietravel Airlines in the early stages of entering the Korean market while providing various options for flights at reasonable prices as well as saving travel time through direct flights.”
From data published by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), after officially opening to international tourists in May 2022, Cam Ranh International Airport welcomed nearly 150,000 tourists from South Korea.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam recorded the number of Vietnamese tourists traveling to Korea in 2022 reaching the milestone of 80,000 people.
Vietravel Airlines in collaboration with a business partner in Korea will now operate a series of 11 charter flights on the route from Daegu (TAE) to Cam Ranh (CXR) between March 28, 2023 to May 7, 2023.
According to data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietravel Airlines achieved an average rate of on-time performance at 93.0%, ranking among the top 3 airlines in Vietnam.
