Vietnam Airlines is all set to resume daily flights to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) starting October 29, 2023 citing growing passenger demand. The airline is planning to gradually increase its flight frequency from London Heathrow Airport to Hanoi International Airport and Ho Chi Minh City Airport from thrice to five times weekly from June 1 with further increase to four flights per week to Hanoi and three flights per week to Ho Chi Minh City from LHR airport beginning on October 29, 2023.
Commenting on the expansion plan, Phan The Thang, General Manager UK & Ireland, Vietnam Airlines, said: “With the resumption of daily services from London confirmed once again for this winter, we are determined to return to pre-pandemic passenger numbers which peaked at approximately 74,000 from London Heathrow in 2019 - as soon as possible.”
During the first nine months of 2022, the airline carried 29,000 passengers from London Heathrow to Vietnam, significantly contributing to the country’s tourism, and hence restoring this service was a key priority for the airline.
