VietJet is expecting to carry 25.7 million passengers in 2023, up by 25% from last year and operate 139,513 flights by December 2023. At the same time the airline is targeting consolidated revenue of more than $2.14 billion, while after-tax profit is set at $42.8 million.

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet) held its 2023 General Meeting of Shareholders in Ho Chi Minh City reporting its results from last year and presenting its goals for 2023.

The airline is planning to expand its fleet from 77 to 87 aircraft to accommodate the surge in passenger demand. The new fleet will include increasing the A330-300 from five to nine.

The airline currently has 18 A320-200s, 36 A321-200s, 18 A321neos and five A330-300s. The airline has orders for 94 Airbus A321neos, 20 A321XLRs, and one A330-300. There are also 50 Boeing 737-8 MAXs and 100 737-8-200 MAXs listed as on order.

The meeting also passed nine proposals on development strategies for 2023 and set certain targets for management to pursue like maintaining the market position in terms of passenger volume and efficiency, reaching agreements with aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus to ensure on-time delivery, expanding business activities in ground services, training services and digital business and optimizing operations and financial solutions to cut costs.
