Vietjet's air transport revenues for the second quarter of 2024 were up 23% to approximately $601 million, compared to the same period last year. It reported a pre-tax profit of around $20.6 million.
In the first six months of the year, its consolidated revenues totalled $1.35bn, up 15% over last year, with a pre-tax profit of $52 million. The company said the pre-tax profit result has exceeded its original targets by 21%. Narrowing in on its air transport revenue for the first half of 2024, it recorded $1.3bn, up 31% over the financial period a year prior.
As of June 30, 2024, Vietjet's total assets amounted to around $3.65bn. Its debt-to-equity ratio remained at 2. Cash and cash equivalent at the end of the second quarter were around $163.18 million.
According to independent Vietnamese ratings agency Saigon Ratings, Vietjet has maintained a long-term credit rating of vnBBB- with a 'stable outlook'.
The airline paid approximately $146.78 million in direct and indirect taxes and fees.
Vietjet signed with Airbus an order for 20 new generation wide body A330neo aircraft worth $7.4 billion at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024 as it looks to expand its global network.
