Venezuelan government to buy Embraer aircraft

The Venezuelan government has announced plans to buy new Embraer aircraft from Brazil and used Airbus aircraft for national airline Conviasa.
Hugo Chavez has confirmed that Venezuela will negotiate loan guarantees with the Brazilian Development Bank to buy up to 20 Embraer aircraft at an estimated cost of 814 million.
Chavez has also indicated that the government is intending to buy four used 340-500s from an UAE airline at a cost of about $60 million.
