US removes airline on-board mask mandate

A federal mandate requiring all airline passengers to wear a face mask on board aircraft has been lifted by a federal judge in Florida, who ruled that health officials has exceeded their authority. The judge stated that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had not adequately explained its decision and violated the procedures for proper rulemaking about the mandate. Airlines and mass transit systems are now free to decide their own mask policies.

American Airlines stated that it was no longer require face masks for its customers and team members at US airports and on domestic flights.
