International air traffic to and from the US rose by 7% to 96.1 million passengers during June 2014 compared to June 2013. Travel by US citizens rose 8% to 43 million, which comprised 45% of all air traffic. Non-US citizen air travelers rose by 7% to 53 million, which a flat market share of 55%.
US airlines carried 5% more passengers during the month with 50.8 million in total, but their market share slipped to 53%. Foreign flag carriers carried 45.3 million passengers, a rise of 9% over the same period in 2013.
Overseas air traffic accounted for 70.4 million passengers, 73% of all international, and grew by 6%.
