American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United and others have proposed carriers in the US are exempt from state taxes on fuel. The proposal being considered by US lawmakers comes as the cap on jet fuel taxes, which is set at $2.5 million, is set to expire in January 2016. A bill addressing the issue is expected to be drafted soon.
