United expands international summer flying by 25%

United Airlines will fly to 114 cities outside the US in summer 2023, with 25 new routes added to the schedule.

The carrier said it had "expanded its flying by 25% versus last year to meet the sharp increase in demand for travel outside of the US", with overseas bookings 15% up on 20222.

The summer will see United fly to Malaga, Dubai, and Stockholm for the first time and add flights to its Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Shannon, Edinburgh, and Naples routes.

There are to be over 20 flights a day to London Heathrow and an expanded Australia service, taking in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and additional flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Hong Kong.

"United will give travellers more options than ever before this summer – especially if they want to fly internationally," said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of global network planning and alliances.
