United Airlines is investing $33 million in buying land in Denver as part of its growth strategy, including expanding its pilot training facility citing strategic location of Denver.  Over 400 United Airlines flights take off and land at Denver International airport daily with a majority of them being connecting flights for passengers.

United Airlines is planning to purchase 46 hectares of land in two parcels, the first parcel is at 1761 E. 64th Avenue, just outside Denver International Airport. With easy airport access United aims to build a new pilot training facility creating approximately 240 new jobs.

The plans for expansion on second parcel are still under consideration.

"Our growth means great things for our customers, our employees, and the communities we serve, including Denver, and this property gives us many options. For example, we’ve already begun work on plans to use part of this land as the site for the expansion of our world-class Denver pilot training facility, and we’ll evaluate additional opportunities in the future as our United Next plan unfolds,” United said in a statement.
