Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will appoint a new president on 18 September.
Yuri Miroshnikov, who has been working in UIA since 1993 and managing the airline for the last 15 years, leaves the position of president on 12 September.
The airline has announced that Yevhenii Dykhne will take on leadership of UIA, effective September 18.
Dykhne is a crisis executive with vast managerial experience in infrastructure businesses, namely Lviv Airlines State Aviation Enterprise and JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. Between 2014 and 2017, Dykhne held the position of the acting director general at Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise. In 2017, he was appointed first deputy CEO.
Under the leadership of the new president, the UIA’s top objective is to re-enter the profit zone while ensuring sustainable development of the network business model.
During his time as president, Miroshnikov helped UIA transformed from a local hybrid airline with eight aircraft, 870 employees, and 640,000 passengers into Ukraine’s flag carrier with 42 medium and long-haul aircraft, route network of over 50 destinations, nearly 3,000 employees; with eight million passengers carried per year.
