The aerospace industry in the North West region of the UK has won a £2 million boost after securing funding to research new materials for use in the building of aircraft.
The government body, the Technology Strategy Board, has agreed to provide the funds to support two projects to research new kinds of composites.
In both cases the projects are 50 per cent funded by the Board, with the balance pledged by the companies involved.
