The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has appointed Crispin Orr to its board as a non-executive director, effective January 2026.
Orr brings over 25 years' experience in aviation safety to the role, most recently serving as chief inspector of Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) since 2017.
The regulator said his appointment will support its commitment to the “highest standards” of safety and public protection in UK aviation aerospace.
“Crispin brings valuable experience and insight on safety matters to our board at an important time for the aerospace sector,” said Stephen Hillier, chair of the CAA.
“I am delighted to take on this role and that I have the opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of UK aviation at a time when the sector faces both exciting opportunities and complex challenges,” said Orr.
