UK APD TAX NOW IN EFFECT

From today, Band A, which covers destinations in Europe, will rise 9% to £12 for economy and £24 for premium flights. Band B, which includes Egypt and the US, will increase by 33% to £60 economy and £120 premium. Destinations including the Caribbean and South Africa, which are in Band C, are to go up by 50% to £75 and £150 respectively. Band D, Australasia and Argentina included, will also go up 50% from £85 to £170. The introduction of the tax is likely to heap pressure on all UK-based airlines that could be the deciding factor in where UK families decide to holiday.
