Uganda Airlines has commenced its new route between Entebbe and London Gatwick airport, marking the only direct route between Uganda and the UK, on May 18, 2025.
The flag carrier will fly the route four times per week on its A330-800neo aircraft.
London Gatwick said the introduction of this route is a “significant milestone” in its strategy to develop routes across Africa, following the arrival of Ethiopian Airlines in November 2023.
“This new route not only strengthens our position as a key gateway to Africa, but also supports our vision of fostering economic growth and connectivity, particularly among new markets across Africa, Asia and the Middle East,” said London Gatwick chief commercial officer Jonathan Pollard.
Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki commented: “This new London route marks a major milestone in Uganda Airlines' expansion strategy and reinforces our mission to connect Uganda to the world.”
