Rex Airlines and National Jet Express (NJE) have announced that two Enterprise Agreements (Agreements) that had overwhelming support from employees have been ratified by Fair Work.
The Rex Domestic Pilots’ Enterprise Agreement was successfully voted up in mid-June 2023, with almost three quarters of the pilot body supporting it.
Neville Howell, chief operating officer, said: “Finalising the Rex Domestic Pilot Agreement marks a significant step given the intended expansion of the domestic operation, and I would like to extend my appreciation to the Pilots for their dedication and commitment to the business”.
The NJE Logistics Enterprise Agreement represents the first to be successfully voted in since Rex purchased NJE in October last year with 100% of employees voting ‘Yes’.
“The ringing endorsement of the Logistics Agreement, which is set to come into effect on 2 August 2023, is a testament of the trust the staff has in the new leadership of the company under the Rex Group,” said Chris Hine, managing director of NJE.
“This strong relationship stands us in good stead to continue our focus on the growth of the business and the many opportunities ahead,” Hine added. Rex and NJE say they are working diligently to finalise the remaining agreements.
