An Allegiant Air A320 aircraft made two emergency landings in less than 24 hours at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. In the separate incidences, pilots declared an emergency because of problems with the aircraft's hydraulic system.
After the first emergency landing, which reported a leak in a hydraulic line, the line was replaced and tested by mechanics and subsequently judged to be airworthy.
The next day, the same aircraft developed a fall in its hydraulic liquid and made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.
Allegiant officials said the fluid never dropped below the minimum level required to operate the aircraft safely and that the crew turned back as a precaution.
