TWC Aviation Capital wins dispute with Jet Lite

TWC Aviation Capital has had a successful judgement against Indian airline Jet Lite in regard to the breach of leasing agreement on two Boeing 737-800s.

TWC claimed for breaches of lease agreements for two Boeing 737-800 aircraft leased to Jet. Justice Jacobs' judgment awarded damages in excess of $24,000,000 to TWC, plus orders for the return of parts and legal costs.

Partner Ned Beale and Senior Associate Charlotte Clayson of Trowers & Hamlins' commercial disputes team obtained judgment on 15 May 2020, instructed by Tetsuya Nozaki, and instructing Bajul Shah of XXIV Old Buildings. Ravi Nath of RNC provided Indian law advice.

Ned Beale said, “We were very pleased to assist TWC in this matter. It is one of several substantial aviation disputes our team are currently handling. This is also one of several hearings we have run remotely during the lock-down. It is great to see the High Court operating so efficiently in difficult circumstances.
