Turkish Airlines has announced the launch of its rebranded, wholly-owned subsidiary AJet, which will commence flights to the UK from the end of March 2024.
Originally established in 2008, the low-cost airline (originally named AnadoluJet) was established to improve transport links for Anatolia. Now rebranded, the carrier will operate under the name ‘Ajet Air Transportation’, using an entirely economy class configuration.
“We fully believe that Ajet, with its new name, will become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale,” commented Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines chairman of the board and the executive committee. "In line with our goals for the next 10 years, we are proud to have started the establishment process of our AJet.”
Created to strengthen Turkish Airlines’ position in an increasingly competitive market, AJet will will continue its operations based at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ankara Esenboğa Airports from the end of March 2024.
