Turkish Airlines has signed a new codeshare agreement with South African Airways, the airline said on Friday (December 5).
Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its flight code on South African Airways flights operating across key African gateways, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls, and Mauritius.
South African Airways will place its code on Turkish Airlines flights between Istanbul and Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Frankfurt, Paris, and London.
“Our codeshare agreement with South African Airways is a meaningful step in further strengthening our presence in the African market and deepening the cooperation between Turkiye and South Africa,” said Turkish Airlines chair and executive committee Ahmet Bolat.
“South African Airways welcomes this codeshare partnership as a strategic step in expanding safe, reliable, and competitive air services for our customers,” said South African Airways CEO John Lamola.
The agreement will take effect on March 1, 2026.
