Turkish Airlines 26% up in Q1

THY grew international passengers by 33% in Q1, while the number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 16% as the airline continues to power forward.
Turkish Airlines (THY) flew around 10 million passengers in total during Q1, 26% up on Q1 2012 or about 2m passengers.
So as THY continues to expand and receive aircraft it is, for the moment at least, clear that capacity increases are yet to catch-up with demand – A very good place to be. There is likely to be another order from THY this year for between 70 to 95 737s and this will most likely be held back for the Paris Air Show.
Look out next month for figures on new THY routes between İstanbul and Kuala Lumpur and İstanbul and Houston.
