TUI Group has appointed Melvin Mak as its group director for sustainability and ESG.
Mak will take over as head of the international sustainability team on November 1, 2025. In his new role, he will report to Thomas Ellerbeck, chief sustainability officer and member of the group executive committee at TUI Group.
“With his in-depth knowledge and proven leadership skills, Melvin Mak will play a central role in implementing our sustainability and ESG roadmap and strengthening TUI's position as a pioneering sustainable tourism,” said Ellerbeck.
Mak had already taken on the role on an interim basis in recent months.
For a period of 14 years, he had been responsible for the sustainable transformation of TUI, first as sustainability manager for TUI Netherlands, and later as head of sustainability for the western region and, since 2020, as head of sustainability strategy and technology.
