TRU Simulation awarded $54.8 million multi-engine training system contract
TRU Simulation, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation, has been awarded a $54.8 million multi-engine training system ground based training system contract from Naval Air Warfare Centre - Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD). The contract is for three unit training device simulators in a King Air 260 standard configuration, one operational flight trainer simulator and one simulator support station both in the METS T-54A configuration, as well as 21 desktop trainers for avionics training. The contract also has options to upgrade the three METS T-54A configurated unit training device simulators and provide an additional four operational flight trainer simulators. TRU will also provide contractor logistics services support to the fielded devices. ""We are honoured the US Navy has selected TRU Simulation to fulfil its modelling and simulation training needs by leveraging TRU’s history of building high-fidelity training devices,"" said TRU Simulation vice president and general manager Jerry Messaris. Deliveries will begin 10 months after the contract award and will continue through 2026.
