TransNusa rebrands as premium service carrier
TranaNusa Airline, a subsidiary of Linkasia Airlines Group and PT Panca Global International Indonesia, has rebranded itself as a premium service carrier globally. After stopping operations in 2020 due to the pandemic and subsequently being sold in 2022, TransNusa’s new management team and shareholders brought a new business model to the airline. This strategy was instrumental in transforming TransNusa to become the fastest growing airline in South East Asia, highlighted group chief executive officer Datuk Bernard Francis. “Based on the data obtained, we knew that travellers' behavioural pattern has changed, specifically due to the pandemic,” he added. The customised business model was implemented on April 14 2022 with the launch of the airline’s first international flight, and since October 2022, the carrier has flown over one million passengers. Bernard also noted that TransNusa’s expansion plans include establishing another domestic hub as well as continuing to expand domestic routes. However, all flights “arriving and departing at only major international airports” will allow passengers to “enjoy the world-class services offered at the international terminals,” he concluded.
