Thomas Cook appoints Non-Exec Director

Thomas Cook has announced the appointment of a new non-executive director.

Jamie Wilson is an experienced international finance executive having previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Avon Products, as chief financial officer of brewer SABMiller and as non-executive director of the South African hotel and entertainment group, Tsogo Sun Holdings.

Thomas Cook chairman Frank Meysman said: "I am delighted that we have attracted someone of Jamie's calibre to our board. Jamie brings a strong track record of financial leadership along with experience of delivering complex change and efficiency programmes. I look forward to his contribution to our board at an important time for Thomas Cook."

The airline posted a £1.5 billion half-year loss in its latest financial results, which the group has blamed on Brexit uncertainty.

This is a significant increase, in its results for the six months to 31 March 2019, when compared to the £303 million loss in the same period a year ago.
