Thai Airways recently took delivery of its Airbus A350, taking the total to 13 A350-900s in the fleet. The aircraft took off from Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport (LDE) for Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The total duration of the flight was 10 hours and 57 minutes.
Prior to the delivery the aircraft underwent maintenance work at Tarbes since February. Before this, the Airbus A350 had spent about two and a half weeks at Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport. The aircraft is four years old with its first flight reported in August 2019.
The aircraft was initially supposed to fly with Hainan Airlines and was delivered in December 2019, but with the pandemic and international grounding, the aircraft never took flight. Later the aircraft was flown directly from Toulouse to Tarbes in January 2020. From 2020 till 2022 it appears that the aircraft was stored at Tarbes.
Thai Airways' 13 Airbus A350-900s are deployed on short, medium, and long-haul routes to Singapore and Hong Kong.
