Thai AirAsia X will temporarily suspend services from Bangkok to Sapporo in Japan from August 1 after the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) downgraded Thailand’s safety rating for failing to properly oversee airlines under its jurisdiction.
Thai AirAsia X will continue to fly to Tokyo and Osaka in Japan and Seoul in South Korea. It has also postponed plans to open new routes to Japan and the airline is looking for new destinations, according to Chief Executive Nadda Buranasiri.
