Texel Air is planning to start a sister airline in New Zealand as a part of its global expansion plan. The airline’s New Zealand operations will include B777-800 aircraft with the management inviting application for various vacancies.
In November 2022, Texel Air signed an MoU with Sparks, Nevada Based Sierra Nevada Corporation to secure financing for future aircraft.
The airline is planning to acquire the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by May 2023 and plan to have a total fleet of 10 B737-800Fs by 2026.
Texel Air received its first Boeing 737-800BCF last year as it recognized the rising demand for versatile aircraft suited for both cargo and passenger operations. The airline currently has a fleet of one Boeing 737-300F, two Boeing 737-800BCF, and two Boeing 737-700FC Flexi Combi.
Texel Air is a Bahrain based cargo airline founded in 2013 with operations commencing from 2014.
