A technical fault on board a Ryanair flight from Stansted bound for Bratislava forced the pilot to make an unscheduled landing in Berlin.
“Ryanair flight FR2314 diverted to Berlin Schoenefeld after a cockpit warning light suggested a possible technical issue," said a Ryanair spokesman. "The aircraft landed normally and passengers disembarked. To minimise delay, Ryanair positioned a replacement aircraft from Stansted. Ryanair sincerely apologised to passengers affected by this delay to their journey."
Ryanair has had a spate of diversions in recent weeks, with three planes on July 26 bound for Madrid had to be diverted to Valencia due to bad weather and low fuel levels.
Another Ryanair flight was diverted to Madrid due to a technical issue earlier in September and an engine fault forced an unscheduled stop for one flight at Barcelona’s El Prat airport.
