Tata SIA Airlines Ltd , the joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines (SIA) says that it expects to start flights in India in October following the no-objection certificate issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) last week for the carrier to begin operations.
The October-December quarter is peak time for Indian carriers since it covers festivals like Dussehra, Diwali and Christmas as well as the year-end vacations.
The airline has said it will soon send its application to the DGCA for an airline licence.
